Jenkins
Living Center, Inc., is a free-standing, non-profit
health care corporation specializing in geriatrics. The
skilled nursing facility, Jenkins Living Center, is licensed
by the South Dakota Department of Health, and is both
Medicare and Medicaid certified.
The Jenkins’ organization opened its doors in 1958 after a
fund-raising effort by a group of dedicated Methodist people
in Watertown. Over the ensuing years, the organization
experienced consistent growth – both in size and scope of
services. Expansion projects in the ‘70s, ‘80s, and ‘90s
have increased the licensed bed capacity of the skilled
nursing facility to its present level of 158 beds. During
that same time frame, the visionary Board of Directors of
Jenkins Living Center, Inc., also added to its scope of
services
Senior
Apartments,
Assisted
Living Services, a secure unit for
Alzheimer’s
care, and an inpatient and outpatient Rehabilitation Program. Today,
Jenkins Living Center, Inc. offers a full continuum of care
allowing our tenants and residents to “age in place”
under the Jenkins’ umbrella of services. Jenkins
Living Center, Inc.- located in Watertown,
SD - employs more than 210 dedicated and
caring individuals whose mission in to provide
compassionate, personalized care and services to the 300
people served daily by the Jenkins’ organization. We
believe that our caring employees are our greatest asset as
we strive to meet our mission of “offering housing, health
care, and rehabilitation services that provide a high
quality of life to the people we serve.” |
